Due to the lack of nominations, we will now be awarding only one award per category. Since the 1999 conference, we had presented two awards for each of the categories. An award was presented to a canine unit both south and north of Hwy. 10.* The decision to change the awards structure was due in part to population differences. The only exception will be K9 Handler of the Year and K9 Rookie Handler of the Year, which will be presented to one canine unit for the entire state.
*Hwy. 10 runs east to west through the counties of Manitowoc, Calumet, Waupaca, Portage, Wood, Clark, Jackson, Trempealeau, Buffalo, Pepin and Pierce.
